We always knew that SES was the best, but now, even U.S. News and World Report knows and has made it official! This past December, our school was named one of the top 100 elementary schools in Virginia by U.S. News & World Report. Considering that there are 1,754 elementary schools in the state, that's pretty amazing stuff!
On the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023, with a variety of community and Alleghany Highlands Public Schools leaders in attendance, a surprise celebration was held at Sharon Elementary School in recognition of the accomplishment. Students and staff from Alleghany High School participated in the celebration by providing cheerleaders, the color guard, and music from the Alleghany High School Band.
A great time was had by all. We are proud of our school!
